SR-1 Project Team
Picture
Eric Stewart, Project Leader. The SR-1 project has been a dream in the back of my head for several years and I now have the opportunity to pursue it full time. I "apprenticed" myself by building a Van's RV-4 (at right) and have worked on Bob Kuykendall's HP-24 glider, Paulo Iscold's IF1 wing and various other projects. In addition to the SR-1, I also freelance for aviation magazines (see my work on the Articles page.

Jimmy Truong, 2018 Summer Intern. Jimmy is a 4th year aerospace engineering student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  He is involved in Design Build Fly, which focuses on building model airplanes from scratch and PolySim, which focuses on building a flight controller using feedback loops.  As he focuses on manned aircraft for his senior project, he hopes to get a job in  aerospace and looks forward to helping make new advancements in  aerospace technology.

Wiley Wilson, 2018/2019 Summer Intern. Wiley is a third-year aerospace engineering student at San Jose State. Ever since he witnessed the inaugural launch of SpaceShipOne as a toddler, he has wanted to spend his life pushing the limits of the aerospace industry. Wiley hopes to find a job working with experimental aircraft and then retire with his own surfboard company.

David Alexander, 2017 Summer Intern. David is a 5th year aerospace engineering student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He also is a project manager and design engineer for Cal Poly's Prototype Vehicles Laboratory, which is working on their own solar car project.  David has been passionate about aircraft and design since he was a child and hopes to get a job developing new technology for the aerospace field.

Nash Reimer 2017 Summer Intern. Nash is a recent aerospace engineering graduate from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a concentration in astronautics. His affinity for experimental engineering projects stems from his love of pushing the envelope of current engineering capabilities and sharing new knowledge that others can continue to improve upon. He hopes to one day start his own spaceflight and exploration company.

Ricardo Stary, 2016 Summer Intern. Ricardo is a third year aerospace engineering student at Federal University of Minas-Gerais, Brazil. His desire for experimental and record breaking projects came from working on Paulo Iscold's Anequim speed plane. He hopes to one day build his own aircraft and keep helping amazing projects around the world.

Brian Paris, 2015 Summer Intern. Brian is a third-year mechanical engineering student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. His engineering passion was sparked by competitive robotics in high school  and his interests in aerospace drove him to earn his private pilot's license at 18.  He hopes to one day become an entrepreneur for inventing products and engineering consultation. UPDATE: Brian was hired as an engineer by Scaled Composites in 2017.
